The Japanese DVD of the feature film SAKI, which I wrote and shot, will be available on our distributor's website albatros-film.com and the DVD is up for preorder on Amazon.com Japan (releases on December 2).
The US release of the film I wrote and shot is up for preorder on Amazon.com with a release date on November 22nd. It will be mostly in Japanese with English subtitles. Check it out and let me know what you think. I've already got plans for a sequel and a prequel. Looking forward to sharing when things get moving.

I'll be heading for the Hawaii International Film Festival and San Diego Asian Film Festival in a few days and will be taking a taste of SAKI with me to promote the film. Here is a sample of some the promotional materials.
It occurred to me that the original concept of Saki being a Japanese exchange student by day and an avenging angel by night could be a great premise for a prequel - SAKI ZERO! I've already written a whole page of notes.

DP/WRITER: Interesting to go back on my old script notes. My original pitch for SAKI was a Japanese exchange student that was running away from her Yakuza family past. But when her host family's son is murdered by the Mafia, she takes it upon herself to plan an elaborate revenge.

Don't ask me why but I felt compelled to watch DEEP BLUE SEA again on Netflix (and I rarely watch a movie more than once). It gets pretty ridiculous but I must admit it's a slick movie that entertains.
