SEVEN in SAKI

While checking the subtitles for the theatrical print of SAKI, I remembered one of the early inspirations when writing a key scene/shot in the film was from my favorite movie of all time SEVEN:

Detective Taylor: ... Then they heard the gun go off, both barrels. Crime of passion. 
William Somerset: Yeah, just look at all the passion on that wall. 

Somerset (Morgan Freeman) in the movie is referring to the blood splatter from a gun blast. In SAKI, the main character's 1st kill is a crime of passion and her "passion" is the blood that splatters on the wall - a very important theme for the rest of the movie.
